The Leicester University Law Society provides students with numerous opportunities each year to showcase their skills and talent. The Client Interview, Baker & McKenzie Negotiation, Mediation and LUDA Debate Tournament are this year’s main competitions. These will give you the opportunity to fine tune essential skills to make it into the legal profession.
It is necessary for us to restrict the availability of some competitions to particular year groups, for example first years cannot compete in client interviewing but can compete in debating. We understand any disappointment in this, but it is required to firstly ensure we have clients (first years can be clients in client interviewing and so can partake but not compete), and secondly to ensure that participants are at the legal stage of ability to effectively compete.
