It is the job of the Chief Officer to lead the Pro Bono Committee. You are to oversee and assist, in directing the operations of the Pro Bono Projects within the University rules and abiding by data protection. You will spend most times typically sending/responding to emails or attending meetings. It is your job to chair meetings, set the agenda and then ensure plans decided on in the meeting are carried out in the best possible way.
This role is all about organisation and time management. You will find requests come in from all areas including academics and outside agencies that want to find out if they can get involved and help Pro Bono grow. It will be your job to continue the strong ties we already have as well as making new ones to ensure that the needs of the group are being met.
You will be involved in sending out emails to students informing them what opportunities are available. Recruitment is a big part of the job as so many students want to get involved, it is up to you and your team to create the application forms, marking schemes and hold interviews. One of the main jobs therefore is being prepared to answer questions. As the leader of the group, people will turn to you if they have a question about the services offered. You will need excellent communication, delegation and negotiation abilities to ensure that everything is done to the highest standard possible.
